Scout Programs

Welcome to WMF! Come meet our ponies and spend some time on the farm.

Scouts can earn their "Horse Lovers" Badge in one lesson for Junior Scouts. For the younger groups, they can work towards earning their "Animal Helpers" Badge. 

We offer Girl Scouts, along with all our clients a safe, fun, hands-on educational  experience. Our facility is open year round with a few options of activities, including merit badge achievement.

Per our most current resources, the Girl Scout Horseback Riding Badge Requirements are:

  1. Know the basics of horseback riding. Knowing difference between Western & English riding, learn & identify different types of horse riding equipment as well as different types riding attire and gain general horse knowledge.

  2. Take care of a horse and learn about safety. learn hands on grooming and feeding.

  3. Prepare for your ride. Learn and demonstrate how to safely lead, tie, tack up, mount and dismount.

  4. Practice your ride. Learn and demonstrate how to in good form safely and effectively using horsemanship aids to steer at a walk & trot on straight lines, circles and bends as well as stopping, backing.

Our parties are "all- weather" events, even if it rains we have a large covered riding ring to accommodate all parties. 

Depending on the size of the group, it should take approximately 1 1/2-2 hours.
